STANDBY SNOW: CHRONICLES OF A HEATWAVE, CHAPTER ONE, a new place-based project will premiere at Story Mill Grain Terminal August 28 & 29, 2019 both at 9pm. This intertextual work brings together video, architecture, music and live performance to activate this rich and complex location rife with historical narratives and environmental lessons. STANDBY SNOW is being created by Comma-Q Architecture (Ben Lloyd and Kelly Olinger); Laine Rettmer, visual artist and opera director; MJ Williams composer; and Mary Ellen Strom; performance and video with advisor Shane Doyle, Apsáalooke (Crow), writer, Native American Scholar. This outdoor event is free and open to all.
